We are delighted to announce that Inclusive Exeter has been awarded funding from The National Lottery Community Fund to deliver REAL Life in the UK project.
This project is designed to support ethnically diverse and migrant communities across Exeter by providing practical knowledge, building confidence, and improving access to essential services.
About the Project
REAL Life in the UK focuses on helping individuals better understand everyday life in the UK through a series of interactive and supportive workshops. The project aims to empower participants with the knowledge and confidence they need to navigate systems, access support, and feel more connected within their communities.
What the Project Will Cover
Participants will have the opportunity to learn about:
- Building confidence and communication skills
- Understanding rights, including private tenancy rights
- Accessing public services such as the NHS, police, fire service, and education
- Recognising and avoiding scams
- Understanding the role and importance of trade unions
- Challenging negative behaviours and attitudes. i.e. inappropriate banter, bias, prejudice, and discrimination
Who Is It For?
This project is open to individuals from ethnically diverse and migrant backgrounds, particularly those who may face barriers due to language, lack of information, or unfamiliarity with UK systems.
We aim to create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants.

- Promote equality and inclusion across Exeter
